Dying Light 2- Review

I am a very big fan of the original Dying Light, having replayed it many times and enjoying it more and more each time because of the fantastic movement and combat, which led to me being very excited and happy to hear that Techland has announced a sequel, so now after the sequel has been out for a while and after I got to play it for 50+ hours and finish the main story and most of the side quest what do I think about the game? well… it’s complicated…

I will start with what I love about the game because in many ways the game exceeded my expectations and because of that, I think this is better than the first game, which is something that I am glad I can say even though I know there are many people who will probably not agree with my opinion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

First of all, I want to talk about the gameplay, I didn’t think that they can improve on anything from the first game but my god they did a fantastic job, the movement is incredibly fun, and it feels even smoother and more fun than in the first game, the combat is fantastic, with a skill tree that gives you many ways and variations of ways to kill enemies and it makes every fight in the game super exciting and fun.
I also love the various methods of movement they provide slowly throughout the story, stuff like the glider and the grappling hook (which now works very differently but in a very good way) makes it so much more fun to traverse around the city, running around jumping from place to play and swinging with the grappling hook sometimes even felt like a first-person spiderman game.

Another thing I love and think is really helping make the game and certain scenes much more impactful is the city, the world is massive, much bigger than in the first game (if you are not including the DLC of the first game of course) and it gives you so much free space to do whatever you want when running around which just makes running around the city sometimes not even doing anything super fun.

To make things exciting and interesting even while you are just running around not focusing on quests they added the usual encounters and parkour challenges who are also in the first game and are always fun and exciting and help spice up traversing instead of just running around.
The game also has some incredible side quests that can sometimes lead to some very emotional moments and some very impactful scenes.

Now I want to talk about the story, voice acting, for the most part, was great, there are people who didn’t do great but almost every actor does a very good job, and the story itself starts really good, the first half is very interesting and intense and it really gives you a drive to not stop playing, but unfortunately, the second half is where you start noticing things falling off a bit, it starts to feel a bit messy and especially towards the end it feels very rushed, the ending itself is… pretty bad, I heard someone I enjoy listening to talking say it’s unfinished and I can see why…

Another thing that disappointed me is the way the night works now, they introduced quests that you can only do at night which is fine, it makes things more interesting right? well, the problem is they changed how the night works, now instead of being in constant fear from volatiles there’s a chase system like in GTA where if a certain type of zombie notices you he makes loud noises and lures every zombie around to run after you, but it just never feels intense or hard, I played for more than 50 hours and I was never able to get it once to get to chase level 4 which made the whole chases at night very boring because I felt like I can always just slip away really easily into safe zones.

And the last thing I want to say is that the game does have some bugs, I didn’t encounter many but there were scenes where I had cutscenes breaking or that sometimes certain stuff related to the gameplay itself didn’t work fully functionally the way they are supposed to.

To sum up, everything I have said until now, I am a very big fan of the original game, and after spending 50+ hours in this sequel I can say that I definitely like it more than the original, but I am aware of the many problems the game have, and it does have a lot, but the gameplay I think just works much better and because of that I felt more enjoyment in this game than in the first.

My score for “Dying Light 2” is: 8/10

The Cuphead Show- Review

Netflix has released a brand new cartoon called “The Cuphead Show”, this time it’s a cartoon based on a popular video game that was published in 2017 called “Cuphead”.

The show for the most part is very episodic, it contains 12 episodes that are all around 12 minutes long and except for about 3 or 4 episodes, most of the episode’s only connection is that Cuphead and his brother Mugman are the main characters in every episode.

Now I came to this as a big fan of the game, and the most important element to me coming into this that I was hoping they did well is the animation and fortunately, they did, the animation is stunning, it really looks like an old Disney cartoon, just a bit more polished, but another thing I really liked about the animation is that to make it seem even older they added a sort of grain filter to make it look like you are watching this cartoon on a very old projector.

The show is also incredibly entertaining, the voice actors do a fantastic job making you both feel for their characters and also laugh out loud, which really helps when you can see that there are certain episodes where the writers did get a bit lazy and just copy scripts from episodes of other kids cartoons.

The show also has a great score, from fantastic background music that really adds to every scene to some great musical moments in certain episodes where some characters start singing and I found all the songs very catchy and fun.

Overall, this is a pretty short review because it is a very short first season, and it was just great, the show is super fun, it’s hilarious, it has fantastic animation and voice work, and it has great voice acting.

My rating for Netflix’s “The Cuphead Show” is: 8.5/10

Halo TV Show Official Trailer

The Halo TV Show has released it’s first trailer.

here it is:

The show will release on paramount+ on March 4th, 2022.

The synopsis is: “Aliens threaten human existence in an epic 26th-century showdown”, which honestly doesn’t really tell us much, but from the looks of the trailer it looks like they are going in a pretty different direction because we can see that its a new timeline and it doesn’t follow the trilogy’s story.

Microsoft Will Acquire Activision Blizzard For $70 Billion

Microsoft has officially announced that they are going to be acquiring Activision Blizzard for a “small amount” of $70 BILLION.

This is one of Microsoft’s biggest and priciest deals that they have made, and there’s a reason for that, after all, Activision Blizzard is responsible for some mega-popular games like Call of Duty, Diablo, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft.

This deal will also give Microsoft ownership of previous popular Playstation titles such as Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and also the Tawny Hawk series.

Now after closing this deal Microsoft officially owns 32 different developer companies, and from the looks of it, they are planning on just keeping on growing until they get some sort of a monopoly on the industry, which by the way it looks won’t take too long with the number of companies they are getting.

Let me know in the comments what company you think Microsoft will acquire next
